Summerfield Court is a brain injury rehabilitation and non-rehabilitation home located in Leeds, West Yorkshire. We provide care and support for up to 17 individuals to build their cognitive and daily living skills following a brain injury. We are proud to have achieved Headway Approved Provider status!

Our team levels are high, allowing everyone to become involved in the daily running of the home and to access local facilities. We adopt a person-centred approach and everyone is encouraged to create their own activity programme, which is tailored to their interests. An important part of the support we offer is to assist people to make the most of the resources available to them in the local community.

As well as our highly trained team, we employ external therapy staff to design, implement and review therapy programmes. These therapists cover a diverse range of specialisms including behavioural therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and physiotherapy.

Most of the people we support come to us following a period of intensive rehabilitation. Our team spend time with each person at their existing placements to ensure a smooth transition into our home.

Facilities

We have 10 spacious en-suite rooms and 7 self-contained apartments with private lounge and cooking facilities. The people we support have the opportunity to progress from one of the rooms within the service to one of the transitional living apartments which offer the experience of being responsible for their own home, before moving out into accommodation in the community. Our home is fully wheelchair accessible, great to for those with mobility needs.

We actively encourage people to personalise and be involved in the decoration of their rooms in the style they desire. We have a range of shared areas to give everyone the opportunity to spend time alone, socialise with others or participate in therapy sessions. Our service has an extra therapy kitchen where individuals can be supported to develop their menu planning and food preparation skills. We also have a large enclosed garden with an attractive patio area and water feature. The people we support are encouraged to help maintain the garden to develop their daily living skills.
