Supporting you

Parkbrook Lodge provides person-centred support to 10 people with learning disabilities, autism, Prader-Willi syndrome, and complex needs.

This home offers an attractive homely environment with 10 en-suite bedrooms. There are also lots of communal areas including a lounge, a dining room, a kitchen, an activity room and a conservatory which leads to a large garden.

The people living at Parkbrook Lodge are encouraged to take pride in their home and are supported to undertake domestic tasks in line with their capabilities. Everyone is encouraged to be involved in cooking meals, all menu planning, budgeting and the purchasing of the food.

Our residents organise many events themselves, such as parties, barbecues and discos, and are encouraged to discuss activities they would like to participate in. Current activities include swimming, ten pin bowling, trips to the cinema and theme parks, horse riding, photography, cycling and walks around the local countryside.

We access local colleges and a rural farm project to promote individual development, education and life skills. We also provide in-house activities including baking, arts and crafts, bingo and computer work. Staff support everyone to take holidays and short breaks to destinations of their choice.

Community

Parkbrook Lodge is located near Rocester, a small picturesque village with easy access to local amenities. It is only five minutes from the market town of Uttoxeter which has a railway station and we are also on the local bus route.

We have two vehicles, which are used for holidays and other activities. In addition to this, we encourage each individual to develop their independence through travel training, which includes using public transport.
